Spring lab celebration!

This week, the McMahon lab celebrated some exciting news with a dinner at the Cheesecake Factory.

Keith and Ella will be leaving to pursue medical school and graduate school, respectively, and Abby will be officially joining the lab after her 8-week rotation!

Cheesecake all around!

Keith will be starting medical school this fall and plans on using the summer to travel to his siblings and visit Korea for the first time as an adult. Right now he is between two schools, either near Chicago at Midwestern University of Osteopathic Medicine, or in Memphis at University of Tennessee Health Science Center.

Ella will be joining Dr. Claire Hemingway’s lab in the Ecology and Evolutionary Biology department at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. She plans to study neotropical bat behavior at the Smithsonian Tropical Research Institute in Panama.

Abby will be continuing the neanderthal clock gene project and working with the honeybees.
